About Us

Principal’s Welcome

We recognise adolescence is a time of transition. We foster independence and support our students to develop their own sense of identity. We actively encourage our students to ‘Reach Out’ and work collaboratively across the school, within the school and wider community and as global citizens.

Our committed staff provide a future-focused curriculum that is personalised, innovative and which empowers learners. We take a holistic approach to learning and development to ensure all students experience success in and outside of the classroom.

Our Vision: Reach Out

The Farm Cove Intermediate School community strives to ‘Reach Out’ and work collaboratively across the school, within the wider community and as global citizens.  “We believe it is the notion of ‘with’ that will enable students to realise their potential of partnerships in learning”, says Principal Tamara Jones.

Beyond the immediate focus of the classroom, we believe that education has a vital role to play socially. To interact and empathise with others, particularly with those from diverse backgrounds, is something we embrace. Each interaction offers an opportunity to give of oneself, and at the same time to have an authentic learning experience.

We embrace our school and country’s cultural diversity, respectfully acknowledging the kaitiaki role of the tangata whenua, and the Treaty of Waitangi as Aotearoa New Zealand’s founding document.
