Uniform is compulsory and all students must adhere to the rules applying to uniform.

Please note:  In 2020 the school uniform shorts will change.  The new shorts can be worn by both boys and girls as from January 2020.  The older style shorts will still be included as part of the uniform for 2020/2021.

John Russell Schoolwear will carry the new stock from mid December and will order in sizes as they are required due to limited space.

All uniforms, girls' and boys', are available from John Russell Schoolwear in Moore Street, Howick, including the regulation school hat. Uniform can also be purchased on line www.johnrussellschoolwear.co.nz.

Physical Education and Sport

The school has a specialist PE teacher and all children are expected to take part in the programme. To take an active part in our extensive sport and physical education programme all students must wear the correct school PE uniform.

Our PE uniform consists of:

  • blue shorts
  • blue polo shirt
  • blue school hat in summer
  • sports shoes and white ankle socks

All PE clothing must be named and should be taken home on Friday afternoons and laundered.

Care of School Uniform

Clothing and shoes should be named and then carefully looked after by the owner. Looking after clothing, although difficult, has to be the responsibility of the student.

To help students find or claim their lost clothing, all uniform items must be clearly named using a marker pen or stitched-in labels which are discreet and cannot be readily removed. In the event of a student losing an item of clothing the student should, in the first instance, look in obvious places and then check in lost property.

Art shirts are required to be worn for art lessons to protect students' uniforms.
